Damage Required to Bos(7th Sept 2018)

Hello there!

Welcome to the new and improved page. This was before titled, “HP Required to Boss”. However, seeing as how Maplestory has now advanced to prioritising damage, HP is no longer a big issue but your damage range is.

Note: You do still need HP to have better survivability. That’s a given.

Here’s a simple guide on what is the minimum damage for each of the bosses according to the sequence in Maplestory under Boss Queue.

Let’s begin.

Monster_Zakum

Normal Zakum
HP: 12,600,000 (12.6 Million)
No actual damage minimum required. You just have to be Level 97.

Chaos Zakum
HP: 168,000,000,000 (168 Billion)
800k+ damage if you’re in a party or 2 – 3m to solo. In all honestly, don’t bother solo’ing. It’s probably not worth it.

Mob_Hilla

Normal Hilla
HP: 500,000,000 (500 Million)
30k damage for a 10~15 minute fight. 200k – 300k to kill her before Damage Reflect (DR).

Hard Hilla
HP: 16,800,000,000 (16.8 Billion)
You can’t resist her cage any more, so the only reliable way to kill her is to burst her down within a single bind. That means something like three or four attackers with 1m+ as a minimum.

Mob_Magnus

Easy Magnus
HP: 400,000,000 (400 Million)
50~80k for a 15~20 minute fight.

Normal Magnus
HP: 6,000,000,000 (6 Billion)
500~600k if you’re able to kite around him. 800k to be comfortable while making a few mistakes. It’d be way easier if you have Bind.

Hard Magnus
HP: 120,000,000,000 (120 Billion)
Generally 1m ~ 1.3m with a party. If you happen to die and a party member has Bind, just wait for Bind to reset and attack again together.

Full_Mob_Horntail

Easy Horntail
HP: 1,600,000,000 (1.6 Billion) approx
Be level 130. Nothing really to look out for. There is a general method to killing Horntail though:

Tail > Legs > Body > Wings > Arms > Left head > Right Head > Middle Head

Normal Horntail
HP: 4,180,000,000 (4.18 Billion) approx
Be level 155. If you don’t have stance, be level 160 with 50k+.

Chaos Horntail
HP: 40,000,000,000 (40 Billion)
200k range for a 15~20 minute fight. 400k – 500k to be competent for the fight. Watch out for seduce and 1/1, get your Hero’s Will (if you don’t already have it, get it) ready just in case.

 

Mob_Mori_Ranmaru

Normal Ranmaru
HP: 1,000,000,000 (1 Billion)
50-100k damage.

Madman Ranmaru
HP: 10,500,000,000 (10.5 Billion)
300~350k to beat his healing. 450k above to be comfortable in taking him down within 4~5 minutes. Watch out for the 20k+ damage he does to you. Make sure you have enough HP before attempting.

Mob_Arkarium

Easy Arkarium
HP: 2,100,000,000 (2.1 Billion)
200k~400k damage. This bastard is annoying to kill and you will probably die a lot.

Normal Arkarium
HP: 12,600,000,000 (12.6 Billion)
1m damage as a mage. DrK is a special case among physical classes and can do it reliably around 2.5m buffed range by proccing Final Pact. Other physical classes shouldn’t bother because both Ark and his groupies can cast weapon cancel and if he builds up enough followers they will outheal your damage. However, you can kill him easily if your party has Bind. Bind ftw.

Easy Von Leon
HP: 700,000,000 (700 Million)
100k damage.

Normal Von Leon
HP: 6,300,000,000 (6.3 Billion)
200k damage.

Hard Von Leon
HP: 10,500,000,000 (10.5 Billion)
Untested but damage should be around 900k plus to be safe.

Mob_Cygnus
Easy Cygnus
HP: 10,500,000,000 (10.5 Billion)
500-600k to duo, or solo if you’re good/lucky at not getting hit by tornado+genesis combo. 800-900k to solo if you’re not so sure.

Normal Cygnus
HP: 63,000,000,000 (63 Billion)
600-800k with a full party. 1.5m-2m to solo if you’re comfortable with the fight.

Normal Pink Bean
HP: 2,100,000,000 (2.1 Billion)
160~200k to beat the timer. 300k for a comfortable 15~20 minute fight. Watch out for DR.

Chaos Pink Bean
HP: 58,8000,000,000 (58.8 Billion)
800k+ for party, 2-3m to solo.

Normal Root Abyss
HP: 400,000,000 – 600,000,000 (400m-600m) approx
100k if you don’t know what you’re doing. 50k if you do.

Chaos Queen/Clown/Chicken
HP: 140,000,000,000 (140 Billion) approx
600~800k to contribute in a party. 1.5m+ to solo. Mechanics are a bigger factor than range in a party, but you need both to solo. Queen is a special case because you probably won’t survive 20 minutes if you can’t tank her breath to purge the flame DoT. You’ll want either 80k+ hp or more range to solo her.

Chaos Vellum
HP: 200,550,000,000 (200.55 Billion)
1.2m+ range, 93%+ IED, and be competent enough to contribute in a party. 3~4m range to solo.

Mob_Lotus

Lotus
HP: 37,446,000,000,000 (37.45 Trillion)
Be able to solo/duo Cvel to contribute.

If you can contribute to your party for Lotus, then you may attempt Damien.

    What about Empress Cygnus? 😀

      Dont know about the touch damage but the empress does about 51,000 via reflect. It would have been nice had Nexon allowed players getting killed to get back into the battle without the use of Wheels. Empress owns the best players with the Godliest possible HPs possible (99999 HP) So well go by whatever you can afford and use skillwork, 99999 HP is about 3 times more expensive to get since Nexon nerfed MP gained from Int at level ups except for mage classes. Your only hope is to double wash (Requires 190 Int with gears + stats) or triple wash (Requires 380 int with gears + stats)

    It should be noted that regular servers require half of the range for Reboot’s ranges.

    A few questions.
    What about Lucid and Will?

    Just a suggestion, but you may want to mention that HP isn’t as important because alot of boss’s attacks do %HP damage.

    Also idk about anyone else, but I play a Kaiser with about 3.2mil range, but only do about 30mil lines with 100% IED and about 180% Boss. My point is that range doesn’t really mean what it used to, as Kaiser’s range is inflated. Is there any way you can recommend a certain amount of Damage per line, or DPS to beat bosses within certain times, kind of like how you mentioned about 600k-800k for CHT within 10 minutes?

      YES. I’m also a Kaiser having the exact same experience. Its actually kind of frustrating. Glad to see people are still commenting on this! Atleast now we have Practice Mode for alot of chaos bosses!! I can do basically anything with 60Bil health or less (Chaos Pink Bean and Normal Cygnus) even though my buffed range in final form is around 3.5mil. Another option could be to go by main stat. I have about 15.8k STR.
